The Sterling Point star on her first fashion week, embracing natural curls, and why she chose an androgynous look for the milestone moment.
Despite a delayed flight to Milan and just 48 hours before returning to work, Bo Bragason is feeling "blessed." The 22-year-old actor is attending her first fashion week, starting with the Prada spring 2027 show. "It's so insane," she says. "I really can't believe it."
Bragason, who gained recognition this summer as Oona in the teen drama Sterling Point, was so excited about the Prada invitation that she couldn't sleep the night before. "Prada? Yeah, it's sick," she said from her hotel. "It's literally the best introduction [to fashion]." For the occasion, she selected a relaxed charcoal grey suit layered over a crisp powder blue shirt. "It's a power suit type of moment," she confirmed. "It's very androgynous, which I love."
The look, which she compared to Julia Roberts at the 1990 Golden Globes, was an immediate choice. "I didn't even try anything else on," Bragason said. "If I feel cool, I feel good." In the Prada suit, she added, "I feel cool. I feel good. I feel confident!"
Her current understated style marks a departure from her teenage years in Manchester, when she went through a "big neon phase" attending indie gigs with her sister. She once owned approximately 20 fluorescent bucket hats, she revealed. "I would wear them religiously. It was a time in my life… I'm glad I went through it. Never again, though." Now she gravitates toward oversized silhouettes, citing Billie Eilish as an influence, though she remains open to more fitted looks.
Bragason has also embraced her natural curls after years of straightening. In 2025, encouraged by her mother and sister, who share her hair texture, she decided to stop hiding her waves. "I really wanted to be myself and not hide parts of myself," she said. "I remember I used to be so self-conscious of my curly hair for some reason. Now I don't feel like myself if I don't have it."
When asked how her Sterling Point character would handle fashion week, Bragason suggested Oona would "try and sneak into all of the high-end after parties" and "talk to every beautiful model in the room." Her own Milan itinerary includes shopping, good food, an Aperol spritz on a balcony, and essential espresso before her flight home. She refuses to let nerves overshadow the experience. "It'd be a waste to go through an experience like that and be scared of what anyone thinks of me." Her personal mantra: "We all live on a floating rock, so, girl, you're going to be fine."
Looking ahead, Bragason has The Legend of Zelda film due next April, for which she conducted extensive research after filming in New Zealand. "Trust me, I have done many hours," she said. "Oh girl, I know Zelda."
