The Dutch brand's fall/winter line features merino and alpaca certified to responsible standards, supporting its four-pillar sustainability strategy.
Dutch fashion label DANTE6 has positioned knitwear at the core of its fall/winter 2026 offering, with soft jumpers, cardigans and a wrap top serving as foundation pieces for layered cold-weather dressing. Behind the collection lies a deliberate materials strategy: the knitwear relies heavily on certified merino wool and alpaca, according to Sustainability Manager Emily Niemöller.
The brand's Sustainability Strategy rests on six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals selected for their alignment with DANTE6's values. Niemöller notes that the company concentrates on "the six SDGs which are closest to our brand values." This framework organizes into four pillars: Our People, Our Planet, Our Product and Our Operations.
The People pillar addresses healthy, fair working conditions and ongoing engagement with production partners. Planet covers packaging from recycled or certified responsible sources. Product emphasizes certified sustainable raw materials with expanding use each season. Operations targets zero overproduction and circular economy participation via the UPV Foundation.
This materials commitment appears throughout the FW26 line. The collection employs merino wool certified to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and alpaca certified to the Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS).
The Benyo wrap top—currently DANTE6's bestselling piece—uses 100 percent RWS-certified merino wool, with a long waist tie creating definition. Campaign imagery demonstrates its layering versatility: worn over a lace top with visible cuffs, plus a soft stole across the shoulders.
The Tysio jumper incorporates 50 percent RWS-certified merino wool in its yarn, featuring button details along the sleeves, an asymmetric neckline and split cuffs, available in espresso brown and off-white. The Siega turtleneck also contains 50 percent RWS-certified merino wool, distinguished by sleeve fringes and a shoulder cut-out.
The cropped Toronto cardigan comprises 52 percent RAS-certified alpaca, produced in Italy from fine Italian yarn. Niemöller highlights alpaca's practical benefits: "Alpaca fibres are lightweight and airy, and feel smooth and soft against the skin. They offer excellent warmth for their weight, while still staying breathable." The fibres additionally resist pilling and are hypoallergenic and non-itchy.
DANTE6 extends its sustainability narrative to both its own brand stores and multibrand retailers through newsletters and sales agencies. The Conscious Journey social media program communicates directly with consumers. A forthcoming Care & Material guide will equip sales staff to explain material choices and proper garment care to customers.
