From Harris Tweed sneakers to archival Wrangler jeans, here's what caught our team's eye as autumn arrives in full force.
Fall has officially settled over New York, bringing with it a nor'easter, serious football matchups, and the start of playoff baseball. That seasonal shift has our editors thinking about jackets—and shopping. This week's picks lean heavily into autumn-appropriate collaborations and unexpected material pairings.
Standout Collaborations
Begg & Co.'s direct-to-consumer cashmere line, once a quiet favorite among insiders, is expanding its reach with brick-and-mortar locations and Mr Porter stockists. Commerce editor Luke Guillory calls the chunky cashmere "divine" and predicts wider visibility for the brand.
Denim dominated several selections. Wrangler teamed with Nashville's Imogene + Willie on a made-in-America revival of a rare archival jean. "Sign me right the hell up," said style director Jonathan Evans. Lee's partnership with Nigel Cabourn produced a jacket in the latter's signature Brurry Denim, designed to age unpredictably with unique patina development.
Footwear brought some of the week's most distinctive offerings. Vans incorporated Harris Tweed into a collection that senior market editor Alfonso Fernández Navas says evokes "breezy Fall days" and British punk touches. "I probably wasn't cool enough to rock these then," he admitted of his study-abroad memories. Veja and Magliano revisited their Panenka sneaker, inspired by 1980s soccer shoes.
Accessories and Outerwear
Thom Browne and Bose paired on headphones wrapped in cashmere with four-bar branding. "It's all the branding codes for those who know," Fernández Navas noted. Paul Smith's ongoing Barbour collaboration wool-interpreted classic waxed-cotton designs, with Evans singling out an olive Beaufort with orange windowpane check as "quite wearable" despite initial loudness concerns.
Chimi launched rectangular sunglasses with rounded edges on the first day of fall, while SOREL and Needles delivered purple footwear that Fernández Navas said "satiates my itch for the color." H. Moser & Cie. introduced a digital watch with GMT and perpetual calendar functions.
Travel and Everyday Essentials
American Airlines marked its centennial with its first consumer brand partnership, joining July Luggage on red-and-blue Carry On and Checked Expandable suitcases drawing from archival design heritage. Dagne Dover expanded beyond its neoprene roots into a lightweight nylon-poly blend, with associate commerce editor Bellamy Richardson favoring the Trench colorway of the foldable large tote.
Rounding out the selections: Alessi and The Mark Hotel collaborated on barware, Joe Jonas became Kenneth Cole's newest ambassador for the woody Inspire fragrance, and Panerai shrunk its Luminor to a 42mm size.
