The designer behind Brock Collection launches Brock, a line of approachable, design-driven luxury priced under $1,000.
Kris Brock is stepping back into womenswear with a fresh perspective. After years away from the fashion cycle, the designer—who co-founded the award-winning Brock Collection with Laura Vassar—has launched Brock, a namesake label that reflects his evolved relationship with the industry.
"It wasn't planned," Brock says of the new venture. "For five years, I consulted for other brands, collaborated across categories, restored a historic home, and grew my family, and that distance let me see fashion whole for the first time." That distance also clarified what he missed: making clothes for women. But he wanted to do it differently this time. "I didn't want to start another luxury brand. I wanted pieces she can't live without, made with real care, in a world that feels every bit as luxurious but is far more approachable."
Romance meets utility
Brock's Resort 2027 and Spring 2027 collections explore tension between romance and ease. "Brock is a balance: an ultra-feminine, seductive sensibility grounded by something more rural and utilitarian," he explains. "She has grace and sophistication, but there's grit to her. She'll throw a weathered field jacket over lace and silk and get on with her day."
The Resort 2027 collection builds on this interplay through faded archival florals, generous volumes, and cinched waists alongside exposed boning and contrasting grosgrain details. Fabrics carry the suggestion of prior lives—crinkled taffetas with chiné prints, lightweight cotton gauze layered against lace. Delicate lingerie-inspired pieces sit against fluid dresses and feminine separates, while relaxed knitwear and oversized outerwear nod to the designer's Texas roots.
The Delphine dress encapsulates Brock's approach: a bias-cut slip with wider straps gathered in sections, scalloped edges connecting a lace bodice to a shirred gauze skirt at the back. "To me, it's the perfect balance," Brock says. "A dress you'd happily reach for often, but one you could just as easily dress up for a night out."
Design-driven, accessibly priced
Versatility anchors Brock's vision. "She's looking for pieces that check multiple boxes, clothes that move with her through a full day and from one role to the next," he says. "But most importantly, she wants to feel her absolute best in them."
Most pieces fall under $1,000, a deliberate choice. "My goal is for Brock to represent a new way of thinking about clothing: that something doesn't have to be luxury-priced to feel luxurious," he says. For Brock, luxury lives in fabric, fit, and discovery—"from how you discover a piece to the moments it becomes part of."
The Resort 2027 collection is available exclusively through Brock and Moda Operandi. The Spring 2027 collection, which debuted during Paris Fashion Week earlier this year, follows. Long-term plans include expanding into new categories and developing more experiential ways to shop.
