The incoming creative director has already outfitted the star in two archival looks ahead of his debut collection.
Olivier Rousteing has not yet presented his first collection for Rabanne, but he has already begun dressing longtime friend Kim Kardashian in pieces from the house's history.
For her 46th birthday celebration last month, Rousteing personally selected two glittering minidresses from the fall 1995 haute couture collection. One appeared in sage green, the other in burgundy, and both came with matching bejeweled headpieces. Kardashian wore the looks to her dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.
The archival access continued this week as Kardashian promoted season 2 of *All's Fair*. She and stylist Law Roach returned to the Rabanne archives, selecting a flesh-toned, curve-hugging dress with an oversized chainmail netting overlay from the spring 1996 haute couture collection. Though Kardashian has worn vintage Dolce & Gabbana and custom Ashi Studio during her press tour, her ongoing relationship with Rousteing lends particular significance to this appearance.
Rousteing's first Rabanne collection will not arrive until early next year. In the meantime, he has given the reality star free rein to explore the house's archive—a privilege that extends to decades-old couture rather than new runway pieces. For now, Kardashian's chainmail moments remain rooted in the 1990s collections of Paco Rabanne himself.
