Hollywood stars gathered for music's biggest night, delivering avant-garde ensembles and all-black statements on one of awards season's most anticipated carpets

The MTV Video Music Awards has long delivered some of the most memorable red carpet moments in awards show history. Past ceremonies have featured Cindy Crawford in a bondage-inspired leather Versace dress, Lady Gaga's controversial meat dress, and Lil' Kim's attention-grabbing one-sleeve jumpsuit.

While celebrities may not be pushing boundaries quite as aggressively as in earlier years, the 2026 MTV VMAs red carpet still delivered striking fashion choices. Hollywood's biggest names gathered to celebrate the year's best music videos, with nominees and attendees alike hoping to make their mark while competing for the coveted Moonman trophy.

JoJo and Megan Lawless both embraced daring all-black looks that put skin on display. Filipino-American singer Bella Poarch took a more theatrical approach, wearing an avant-garde Victorian-inspired creation by Dreaming Eli that featured exposed corsetry and boning.

Other notable appearances included Lisa Rinna in SEKS, Ciara Miller, Harry Jowsey, Jordan Coleman, Gabriela Barra, Chlöe Bailey, Rei Ami, and Stella Lefty, who wore Claire Pettibone. Sienna Spiro, Slayyyter, Madisin Rian, Orville Peck, and Eric Name also walked the carpet.

Several stars opted for established designer labels. Raye appeared in Georges Hobeika, while Troye Sivan chose Erdem. Bebe Rexha combined pieces from Dreaming Elie with Jimmy Choo shoes and Loree Rodkin jewelry. Teyana Taylor wore Zuhair Murad.
