The Japan-only HZB002J combines retro aesthetics with accessible pricing at roughly $350.

Seiko has partnered once more with Japanese watch retailer TiCTAC on a limited-edition timepiece that channels classic design sensibilities. Their latest collaboration, the HZB002J, arrives with a restrained, archive-inspired aesthetic that distinguishes it from typical contemporary releases.

The two companies have worked together since 2019, creating mechanical watches that merge everyday functionality with vintage character. This newest model continues that approach through several deliberate design choices.

Rather than a stark white face, the dial features a warm, creamy tone that shifts subtly with changing light. Hour markers contain faux-aged luminous material, mimicking the natural patina developed by older watches. Black cathedral hands—reminiscent of those on Seiko's Alpinist line—reinforce the retro atmosphere, while Arabic numerals at the 6 and 12 positions maintain visual simplicity.

The 40mm stainless steel case suits daily wear, combining polished case sides with brushed lugs and a curved Hardlex crystal. A three-link steel bracelet comes standard, though drilled lug holes accommodate easy strap changes for those preferring leather.

Powering the watch is Seiko's automatic 4R35 caliber, visible through a transparent case back, delivering a 41-hour power reserve. Despite its refined appearance, the piece carries 100-meter water resistance.

The HZB002J launches exclusively in Japan on October 24, priced at ¥55,000—approximately $350. While not officially distributed abroad, international customers may purchase through TiCTAC's WorldShopping shipping service.

For enthusiasts seeking vintage appeal without collector-level investment, this release presents a notable opportunity—though availability will likely be constrained.
