Vacheron Constantin has released a new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin that conceals extraordinary mechanical complexity behind an understated appearance. The timepiece, created to commemorate the Overseas collection's 30th anniversary, pairs a white-gold case with a newly developed azure dial.
Production will be strictly limited to 200 pieces. The self-winding caliber 1120 QP/1 powering the watch measures merely 4.05mm in thickness despite tracking the date, day, month, leap years, and moon phases. The calendar mechanism is programmed to remain accurate without correction until the year 2100. The complete watch maintains a remarkably slim profile at just 8.1mm thick.
The 41.5mm case houses a movement built from 276 components, visible through a sapphire display back. A 22k-gold rotor, engraved with the Overseas line's compass-rose motif, completes the view from behind.
The dial represents a deliberate departure from previous Overseas models. According to Vacheron Constantin, the new azure tone is lighter and less saturated than the blue that has defined the collection since 2016. Combined with the white-gold case, this palette lends an unexpectedly relaxed character to an otherwise serious haute horlogerie creation.
Versatility extends to the strap options. The watch ships on an integrated white-gold bracelet, accompanied by interchangeable white and denim-blue rubber straps that can be swapped without tools.
The release arrives three decades after the Overseas collection first debuted, with Vacheron Constantin positioning the limited edition as a fitting milestone celebration.
